The Ash River Visitor center is a historic wooden cabin. Concrete stairs lead up to the cabin from the parking lot and an accessible path leads to the visitor center from the left side of the visitor parking. A separate building for restrooms is located to the right of the visitor center with a slight path separating the two.

The Ash River Visitor Center is open during our summer season from late May to late September. Ash River Visitor Center will be closed annually over the winter season. The Ash River Visitor Center is located in the historic Meadwood Lodge pictured above. Take a moment to explore this historic, rustic building. Watch your head, as some interior doorways were constructed for shorter individuals.

Ash River Visitor Center Passport Stamp

A passport stamp is located inside the visitor center during business hours. Another passport stamp is located on the bulletin board near the boat launch area.

3 parking spots and 1 handicap parking spot is located directly in front of the Kabetogama Visitor Center. There is a bulletin board outside on the right side that has a large map of the park as well as a brochure rack. Once inside the building there is a bookstore located on the left side. Right after the bookstore is the front desk where a ranger is located at. Across the from the front desk on the right side of the building is a large map that lights up the campsites and visitor destinations within the park. After the front desk the room opens up to an exhibit area.

Nestled along the south west shoreline of Kabetogama Lake, the visitor center is in the small community of Kabetogama. The Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center is open during our summer season from late May to late September, and in the Winter from the beginning of January to the end of March.

Kabetogama Lake Passport Stamp

A passport stamp is located inside the visitor center. There is also a passport stamp located on the bulletin board in front of the visitor center that can be accessed at all hours.

The visitor center is located a short walk from the upper parking lot. To the left of the visitor center is a side walk ramp and stairs are located directly in front of the visitor center. A bulletin board is located on the right in front of the visitor center and has a large map of the park as well as brochures and a passport stamp. To enter the visitor center there are two sets of double doors. Once past those there is the front desk located to the right and to the left is a museum. The park bookstore is located on the right just past the front desk. After the bookstore is a hallway that leads to the restrooms.

Located on the shore of Black Bay with views across the water to the Kabetogama Peninsula. The Rainy Lake Visitor Center hours of operation vary with the season. Call ahead or stop by for the most current information and for help with trip planning (218) 286-5258. The visitor center offers an exhibit area, displays, a bookstore, a staffed information desk, a children's activity table, and a theater for viewing the park film.
